KUALA LUMPUR – Some 463 areas in Petaling, Hulu Langat, Sepang, Putrajaya and Kuala Langat are experiencing unscheduled water supply disruption after odour pollution was detected in the Jenderam Hilir water pump station at 11.10am.

This has caused the Sg Semenyih water treatment plant to shut while Air Selangor Sdn Bhd investigates the cause of the pollution along Sg Semenyih and its tributaries.

While Air Selangor has instructed account holders to check for affected areas via www.airselangor.com, the website is currently down.

So far, there has been no updates as to when water supply will resume.

Users can check the list of the affected areas below.

Among the areas in Petaling are Taman Serdang Jaya, USJ1-27 (except USJ25), Universiti Putra Malaysia, Taman Sri Petaling, Taman Saujana Puchong, Taman Puchong Prima, Taman Wawasan, Seri Kembangan, Serdang Jaya, Lestari Putra, Bukit Jalil, Bandar Puteri Puchong and Bandar Baru Sri Petaling.

Affected accounts in Petaling totalled 160,946.

Some of the affected areas in Hulu Langat are Bandar Sri Putra, Bandar Bukit Mahkota, Setia Ecohill and Bangi Avenue, cutting off nearly 30,000 accounts.

Meanwhile, Sepang’s Cyber 4, 5, 6, 8, 11 and 12, Desa Pinggiran Putra, Garden Residence Lake, Kg Sg Meranti, Kg Sg Merab, Sierra 16, Taman Bandar Bukit Puchong, Taman Kota Warisan and Taman Putra Perdana have among the most affected users. In total, 75,869 taps in Sepang are dry.

In Putrajaya, Presint 1 to 20, Dataran Putra and Taman Botani saw their water supply disrupted, totalling 33,352 accounts. – The Vibes, August 31, 2021
