KUALA KRAI – Some 34 madrasah residents have refused to undergo Covid-19 tests recently, the Kelantan Health Department confirmed.
However, the matter was resolved after Health Director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin had a discussion among police, the residents and the head of the madrasah in Kg Sg Kenerong, Dabong here.
“They refused the screening because they felt they were not close contacts with the Covid-19 patient who died in Dabong on August 27,” he said.
Earlier, it was reported that the madrasah owner did not allow the screening to be done on the premises.
Dr Zaini has called on all Kelantan residents to give their cooperation when approached by the Health Department.
“Majority of the Covid-19 cases are asymptomatic yet able to infect others. Lab tests will help to determine someone’s Covid-19 status. Quick investigation by the Health Department needs public cooperation.” – The Vibes, August 31, 2021
