KOTA KINABALU – Locals have found the body of the driver of a car that was swept away by strong currents in a river in Inanam on Friday.
The body of 68-year-old Sanga Tupe was discovered half-buried under sand and driftwood along Sg Dambai, about 1km from where the Perodua Myvi was recovered, around 1.30pm today.
Kota Kinabalu police chief Zaidi Abdullah said the remains have been sent for a post-mortem.
The body was spotted by a villager and his brother after the river’s water level receded following the downpour last week that caused massive flooding in many parts of Sabah.
The body of Tupe’s friend Juning Maturin, 27, was extricated from the Myvi on Saturday.
