As of 5pm yesterday, Covid-19 intensive care unit bed usage stood at 82%, and non-ICU beds, 77%.

Up to 11.59pm yesterday, 64.1% of the Malaysian population had received one vaccine dose, while the rate of those fully vaccinated stood at 50.5%.

Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the increasing vaccination rate in the state has reduced the number of Categories 4 and 5 cases.

In a statement, Masidi said out of Sabah’s 2,298 new Covid-19 cases today, only three are in Categories 4 and 5.

“Out of today’s cases, 24.1% (554 cases) is in Category 1, 68.8% (1,576) is in Category 2, and seven patients are in Category 3, while 158 cases are still being determined.”

The Health Ministry reported another 323 coronavirus deaths nationwide, pushing up the toll to 19,486.

Of the 1,310 patients in intensive care, 737 require breathing aid.

Another 24,855 recoveries take the overall figure to 1,657,486. – The Vibes, September 9, 2021
