KUALA LUMPUR – Selangau MP Baru Bian will not attend tomorrow’s Dewan Rakyat sitting, having tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.
In a brief statement today, the lawmaker said he underwent a mandatory PCR test ahead of the session, and he now has to remain in quarantine until September 21.
“I am experiencing mild flu-like symptoms and had a slight fever on Friday, which subsided overnight.
“I believed the vaccination that I received some months ago prevented a serious illness requiring hospitalisation.
“I strongly urge those who have not been vaccinated to get the vaccine. It could save your life.”
The Dewan Rakyat’s fourth sitting will go on from tomorrow to October 12.
The confidence vote for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is not listed in this session’s order paper.
However, the motion to select a deputy speaker is on the cards. Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said quit the post on August 23. – The Vibes, September 12, 2021
