KOTA KINABALU – The implementation of a policy to only allow fully vaccinated individuals to enter business premises in Sabah has been extended until September 21.
Sabah Covid-19 official spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said in a statement yesterday that the decision was made following the low vaccination rate in the state.
“The restriction was supposed to be fully enforced on September 15, but Sabah’s vaccination rate is only at 52% out of its adult population.
“We will implement the requirement when Sabah achieves 60% vaccination rate, expected to be on September 21.”
He also said that there are workers of restaurants and supermarkets who have yet to receive their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, particularly AstraZeneca recipients.
On August 12, Masidi had announced that only fully vaccinated individuals are allowed to enter supermarkets, hypermarkets and food outlets, including workers.
