Students from higher learning institutions can obtain jabs at same hubs, says CITF

KUALA LUMPUR – Walk-in vaccinations in the Klang Valley will continue at five centres (PPVs) between September 16 and 30, said the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF).

In a statement, CITF said this is a “quick-win” solution to the reduced numbers of those coming to centres for walk-in appointments and to optimise resources.

The centres are at:

1. Bangi Avenue Convention Centre (BACC), Bangi

2. Multimedia University (MMU), Cyberjaya

3. Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil

4. Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI), Gombak

5. Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC), Shah Alam – HCO B

The CITF said students from higher learning institutions in the Klang Valley can obtain the jabs at the five centres.

“However, walk-ins in other states will be continued and the public is advised to follow announcements made by the respective Health Departments to obtain the latest information in relation to walk-in initiatives.”

The CITF said it will hold further discussions with the Health Ministry on the involvement of ProtectHealth Sdn Bhd for the walk-in initiative.

“The discussion will be focused on expanding walk-in initiatives for the adult population at general practitioner clinics in the Klang Valley,” it said.

The CITF said ProtectHealth is expected to begin offering walk-ins at selected private practitioner clinics to citizens beginning October 1.

Currently, there are 13 PPVs still operating in the Klang Valley until today, while 38 PPVs were already closed as of yesterday.

The closure of PPVs was made after CITF studied the rate of Klang Valley residents who have yet to be vaccinated and the low attendance rates at the PPVs.

As for individuals who have received their first doses from PPVs that have been closed in Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor, they can obtain their second doses via walk-in appointments at the following clinics:
