[UPDATED] Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Johor to shift NRP phases Sept 24: Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR – Putrajaya has agreed for three states to enter different phases under the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

In a statement today, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that Negri Sembilan will move from Phase 3 to 4, Pahang from Phase 2 to 3 and Johor from Phase 1 to 2.

“The phase transitions follow the guidelines prepared under the NRC (National Recovery Council), taking into consideration the number of hospital admissions for symptomatic cases, ICU bed occupancy, and the percentage of those who have completed their vaccination,” said Ismail Sabri.

Apart from that, the Bera MP said the reopening of tourist attractions and resumption of interstate travel will take place when 90% of the adult population is fully vaccinated.

Ismail Sabri also said that restaurants, mini markets, petrol stations and convenience stores are permitted to operate from 6am to midnight starting tomorrow.

“Beginning October 1, spas, wellness centres and massage parlours are allowed to operate and open to visitors and operators who are fully vaccinated.

“Tourist activities such as visiting zoos and aquariums, farming, snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing holidays, and nature parks are allowed to operate in all NRP phases starting October 1 for operators and visitors who are fully vaccinated.

“All said businesses are allowed to operate at 100% capacity provided the employers and staff have received both their Covid-19 vaccine doses,” he said.

In addition, the Umno lawmaker said foreigners arriving at international arrival gate have to bear the cost of RT-PCR tests whereas for Malaysians, it is free of charge.

“With the relaxation of SOPs, the government hopes the people will enjoy themselves while being disciplined and with a sense of responsibility.
