KOTA KINABALU – Claims of an 18-year-old dying in Lahad Datu after getting his Covid-19 jab are unfounded.

Sabah health director Dr Rose Nani Mudin said this was confirmed by the Lahad Datu Health Office today.

State health authorities have lodged a police report over the fake claims.

“The actions of the individual (in the said video) have created panic and concern among the people, particularly parents and teenagers planning to receive the vaccine.

“The department urges the public, especially parents, not to believe any fake information about vaccines,” said Dr Rose Nani in a statement that was uploaded to the state Health Department Facebook page today.

She noted that up to 90% of ICU patients in Sabah now comprise those who have not been vaccinated.

Vaccination for teenagers aged between 12 and 17 commenced on September 16.

In the 1-minute, 29-second viral video, a woman is seen naming several students, including the 18-year-old from Lahad Datu, who allegedly died after getting their jabs.

The woman appealed to those who have experienced vaccination side effects to come forward and report to the authorities, rather than just posting about it on social media. – The Vibes, September 29, 2021
