KOTA KINABALU – Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and former chief minister Tan Sri Chong Kah Kiat will be among seven recipients of the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK) award this year.
They are among 1,316 recipients of state awards to be presented in conjunction with the 68th birthday of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin tomorrow.
The other SPDK recipients are former Sabah deputy chief minister and PBS deputy president Datuk Yee Moh Chai, former state minister Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, federal Chief Secretary Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali; Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, wife of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin; and Chief of Army Tan Sri Zamrose Mohd Zain.
The SPDK award carries the title “Datuk Seri Panglima”.
Another 66 people will be conferred with the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK) award that carries the title “Datuk”.
Among the PGDK recipients are Sabah Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission director Karunanithy Subbiah, state Health Director Dr Rose Nani Mudin, Sabah Chief Forest Conservator Frederick Kugan, Sabah Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister Shahelmey Yahya; federal Deputy Home Affairs Minister Jonathan Yasin; political secretary to the chief minister Roland Chia Ming Shen; and Gum Gum assemblyman Suhaimi Nasir.
Meanwhile, national athlete Datuk Lee Chong Wei will also be one of ten people to receive the Justice of Peace award tomorrow, along with Sabah Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin, and former secretary of Sabah Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman, among others.
A total of 1,233 people are scheduled to be conferred other awards, namely the Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu ASDK (95 individuals), Darjah Kinabalu ADK (233), Bintang Kinabalu (400), Bintang Setia Kinabalu (346), and Certificate of Honour (142). –The Vibes, October 1, 2021
