KUALA LUMPUR – Pengerang MP Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said has been appointed the prime minister’s special adviser on law and human rights.

In a Facebook post today, she expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for the trust given.

“Thank you YAB Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for the trust. Inshaallah, I will do my best for the country.”

She shared a photo of her receiving the appointment letter from Ismail Sabri.

It is learnt that Azalina, a former Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker, received the letter on Thursday.

She resigned as deputy speaker on August 23 to allow the government and opposition to “reset” Parliament, and to carry out her duties without fear or favour. – Bernama, October 2, 2021
