KUALA LUMPUR – Melaka Pakatan Harapan has denied that its assemblymen will join the four reps responsible for the state’s political impasse at Istana Negara, where they are seeking an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
In a Facebook post, Kota Laksamana’s Low Chee Leong of DAP slammed independent politician Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee for “dreaming of support from PH”.
“Melaka PH chief Adly Zahari has denied the matter. Norhizam must stop sullying PH’s good name because not all PH reps support him unanimously.
“Don’t even dream that DAP will accept him as a friend.
“Tidur awal, jangan mimpi!”
Adly also issued a denial this morning, saying the state PH has no plans to seek a royal audience.
“Our focus is to bring the dissolution of the state assembly to court, to dispute the process and facts of the dissolution, including respecting Article 19(2) of the state constitution.”
Norhizam told Sinar Harian yesterday that 15 former Melaka assemblymen are planning to seek an audience with the Agong in a bid to end the state’s political crisis.
He said the group wanting to meet Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah comprises former independent politicians and those from PH looking to resolve the crisis.
Norhizam then told MalaysiaGazette that Datuk Seri Idris Haron will lead the delegation to the palace today.
The dissolution came after four reps, including Norhizam, withdrew their support for Umno’s Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali, who is now caretaker chief minister.
The other assemblymen are Umno duo Idris and Datuk Nor Azman Hassan, and Bersatu’s Datuk Noor Effandi Ahmad, who has since been sacked by his party.– The Vibes, October 7, 2021
