KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded another slight dip in Covid-19 cases today at 7,373, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
The health director-general said that this brings the cumulative number to 2,339,594.
In a statement, Dr Noor Hisham said that the country also recorded 10,959 recoveries, bringing the total discharged to 2,195,669.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry recorded 74 deaths today, including 27 brought in dead, bringing the fatality toll to 27,265.
His statement comes just hours after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the lifting of interstate travel restrictions and abolishment of the MyTravelPass system for international travel.
Dr Noor Hisham said 767 cases were under intensive care, of which 410 required breathing assistance.
Out of the 7,373 new cases today, only 133 (1.8%) are in categories 3, 4, and 5, while 7,240 (98.2%) are in categories 1 and 2.
Noor Hisham also said that the country has seen a total of 5,588 clusters, including eight new clusters today.
Clusters that have ended are at 4,778, leaving 810 clusters active.
He said five of the new clusters came from the community, while those categorised under workplace, high-risk, and religious activities saw one cluster each.
The Dah 13 Industri Baling cluster in Baling and Kuala Muda, Kedah saw the most cases with 26, while the Taman Kenerek Jaya community cluster in Pasir Mas, Kelantan saw the least with only seven cases. – The Vibes, October 10, 2021
