KUALA LUMPUR – The daily Covid-19 caseload dipped slightly to 6,145 compared with yesterday, marking a three-month low for the country.
In a statement, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this brings the cumulative caseload to 2,390,687.
He added that the country saw 9,231 recoveries, bringing the total discharged to 2,270,520, while 682 cases are still under intensive care and 350 requiring breathing aid.
Of the 6,145 new cases today, 142 cases (2.3%) are in Categories 3, 4 and 5, while the remaining 6,003 cases (97.7%) are in Categories 1 and 2. Only 12 cases seen today were imported.
Dr Noor Hisham said the country has a total of 5,672 clusters, including nine new ones today. Clusters that have ended are at 4,996, while 676 remained active.
He said six of the new clusters seen today are workplace clusters, two were detected in the community, and one is from a high-risk group.
The Jalan PC 10 workplace cluster in Muallim, Perak, has the most cases with 52, while the Industry Jalan Sawit Bari workplace cluster in Kulai, Johor, recorded the least with eight cases. – The Vibes, October 17, 2021
