KUALA LUMPUR – Fully vaccinated teenagers will get to enjoy perks similar to the adult population with the government giving a grace period of three weeks or by mid-November before this comes into force.
In a statement, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said requirements for fully vaccinated adolescents aged 12 to 17 will be specified in all standard operating procedures.
The grace period is to allow for the 80% who have received their first dose to transition to fully vaccinated status.
The vaccination programme for adolescents started on September 20.
Meanwhile, Khairy said this morning that 80% (2,524,156) of the adolescent population has received at least one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in less than two months.
According to the CovidNow website, 1,367,216 (43.4%) teens aged 12 to 17 have been fully vaccinated as at 11.59pm yesterday.
As for the adult population, 22,084,594 (94.3%) individuals are fully inoculated while 22,792,916 (97.3%) have received at least one dose. – The Vibes, October 22, 2021
