GEORGE TOWN – The Pakatan Harapan Penang Leadership Council has been officially registered under Section 12 of the Societies Act 1966 (Act 335) through an application submitted by the council.
Following this, a special meeting was held with PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail on October 22 at Wisma DAP Penang here.
The Registrar of Societies certificate was also officially presented to the Pakatan Harapan Penang Leadership Council.
The Penang chapter of Pakatan Harapan was initially formed in 2019 comprising leaders from the four component parties, including Bersatu, to strengthen cooperation between the allies.
In the new line up, most of the posts are retained with the council chaired by state Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, followed by Datuk Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik (PKR) as deputy chairman I. Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof Rawa has been replaced with Dr Roslan Ahmad (Amanah) as deputy chairman II.
