KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded another dip in the daily Covid-19 caseload with 4,626 infections today, a decline from yesterday’s 4,979 cases, with only six imported cases.
In his daily Covid-19 statement, Health Ministry Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this brings the cumulative infections to 2,476,268 cases since the pandemic began.
He said the country also recorded 5,299 recoveries today, bringing the total discharged to 2,380,060.
Out of a total of 569 cases under intensive care, 301 cases require breathing assistance.
Dr Noor Hisham said only 94 (2%) out of the 4,626 new cases today are in Categories 3, 4, and 5, while the remaining 4,532 (98%) are in Categories 1 and 2.
He said the country has also logged a total of 5,776 clusters, including five new clusters today.
There are 5,365 clusters that have ended, while 411 remain active.
Meanwhile, the ministry’s CovidNow website indicated a total of 36 deaths today, including seven cases that were brought in dead (BID).
Dr Noor Hisham said three of the five new clusters today are related to workplaces, one to a high-risk group, and another to an education institution.
The Kg Dusun Raja high-risk cluster in Kota Baru, Kelantan, recorded the most cases with 19, while the Kg Cheroh education cluster in Raub, Pahang, logged the fewest at 10. – The Vibes, November 1, 2021
