MIRI – The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has announced that the state is preparing to enter the endemic stage of Covid-19.
The SDMC secretariat said in a press statement that Sarawak is going to shift from Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan to Phase 4.
“From the pandemic stage (Phase 3), we will soon enter the endemic stage (Phase 4).
“We will see more socio-economic sectors reopen fully.
“Tomorrow, we will open up our bus services totally, with 100% capacity for express and stage services (long-distance and local district services),” the secretariat said in a press statement.
Sarawak reported 19 Covid-19 fatalities today, between the age of 40 and 96.
Three of the cases were brought-in-dead at Betong Hospital, while hospitals in Kuching, Lawas and Bintulu saw one brought-in-dead case each.
Of the 19 deaths, seven were in Betong district, four in Sibu, three in Kuching, two in Limbang and one each in Miri, Bintulu and Sri Aman.
The state recorded 527 new infections today, with Kuching recording 190 new cases, Miri (96) and numerous other districts with several dozen cases each. – The Vibes, November 4, 2021
