KUALA LUMPUR – The fresh Covid-19 caseload has dropped significantly to 4,922 infections, taking the cumulative daily cases to 2,497,265, said Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said that the country recorded 5,579 recoveries today, bringing the cumulative recoveries to 2,401,823.
In a statement today, he said 282 patients required breathing assistance, with 214 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 68 being monitored for now.
Some 549 cases needed treatment in the intensive care unit, with 20 being investigated as possible Covid-19 patients.
He said from the 4,922 infections recorded today, 4,842 were from Category 1 and 2, while 80 were from Category 3, 4, and 5.
The country has seen a total of 5,796 clusters since the beginning of the pandemic, including three new ones detected today.
Clusters that have ended stand at 5,441, while 355 remain active.
Of the three clusters detected today, they were sourced from a workplace, a higher education institute, and a community respectively.
The Dah 3/5 Industri Sg Petani 2 workplace cluster in Kuala Muda, Kedah, recorded the highest infections with 54 cases, while the Jalan Yahya 4 higher education institute cluster in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur, recorded the lowest infections with nine cases. – The Vibes, November 5, 2021
