KUALA LUMPUR – Comparing Budget 2022 to his experience in a restroom this morning Datuk Mahfuz Omar (Pokok Sena-PH) left those in the Dewan Rakyat in stitches.
Mahfuz said he felt dissatisfied while defecating this morning as he was experiencing constipation.
Explaining further, Mahfuz mentioned that Budget 2022 presented by the government was underwhelming as it fails to address critical problems in the country, particularly the wastage of expenditure.
“Looking at the 2020 auditor-general’s report, there are leakages exceeding RM600 million.
“This is a big amount and Budget 2022 does not outline how the government plans to address these issues,” Mahfuz said in Parliament while debating the annual budget today.

The Amanah lawmaker also pointed out that Budget 2022 has no specific provision concerning the fight against corruption despite the fact this is particularly important to rebuild confidence among the populace towards the government.
Mahfuz said that confidence in the government has been waning ever since instability was sparked among component parties.
“The MoU signed between the government and Pakatan Harapan was based on the Agong’s decree for political stability.
“What happened instead is that there’s instability within the government parties themselves.
“At the moment, I am not sure if this is a Barisan Nasional government or Perikatan Nasional administration,” Mahfuz added.
He highlighted the situation in Melaka, where component parties in the federal government are competing with one another in the upcoming election.
He said that the situation in Melaka may be beneficial for PH, and urged voters to give the opposition coalition another chance to govern the state. – The Vibes, November 8, 2021
