KUALA LUMPUR – The Youth and Sports Ministry has successfully implemented 114 youth empowerment programmes in preparing for the implementation of Undi18.

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Senator Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker said the initiative, which involved 60,522 participants, was a collaboration between the ministry and the Institute of Leadership Development and Excellence (i-LEAD), which had implemented various programmes under the Rukun Negara@Belia programme in 17 Wawasan Negara camps nationwide.

“Various programmes to educate new voters are implemented under the Rukun Negara@Belia programme to provide exposure to young people about the parliamentary democracy system.

“Among the special programmes are detailed training on the election process as well as viewing and evaluating ballot papers,” he told reporters after launching the Malaysia Future Leaders School (MFLS) Tier 3 programme here today.

MFLS replaces the National Service Training Programme and Biro Tatanegara which is holistically designed by combining high-impact internal and external activities.

MFLS Tier 1 involves a screening process to select eligible participants and bring them to the Tier 2, where they will be engaged in the MFLS programme for 10 days, while MFLS Tier 3 is the implementation of the concept of youth internationalisation which lasts for two months. – Bernama, December 18, 2021
