KUALA LUMPUR – Houses in Taman Sri Muda are still inundated by at least knee deep floodwaters while rescue boats are slowly evacuating residents and ferrying supplies to those stranded.
The surrounding streets are littered with flood debris as starving evacuees try to find a spot to eat and drink after getting off the boats.
Alongside them, volunteers distribute food and drink while some plan further rescue operations.
Rescuers are also trying to wade through the floodwaters offering help.

The Vibes spoke to a couple who wanted to be known as Husnah and Syazwan. They were initially stranded in Batu Tiga, Shah Alam for three days.
Now, Husnah and Syazwan are waiting to make their way home to Taman Sri Muda, where their house might still be sitting in water.
Not too far from Taman Sri Muda, abandoned vehicles dot the surrounding highways.
Despite concerns in the past few days over the lack of response from the authorities to the disaster, today the Fire and Rescue Department, army, civil defence and police are seen conducting rescue operations alongside volunteers.
