KUALA LUMPUR – The Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) today has issued a dangerous water level warning for several areas along Sg Pahang.

In a statement today, DID said those areas are Sg Bera bridge and waterfront, Sg Kundang in Maran, Lubuk Pasu and Kuala Krau in Temerloh.

“It is advised that the residents be prepared and always be vigilant. Please follow the authorities’ instructions for further action,” it said.

Meanwhile, the water level in Paloh Hinai along Sg Pahang is on a warning alert and residents are advised to do the same – be prepared and always be vigilant.

For the record, Pahang central township of Mentakab has been crippled with floodwaters, which has inundated the industrial and business areas throughout the district.

The deluge is the worst flooding the town has seen in decades.

The disaster has disrupted power supply in the area, which was cut off by Tenaga Nasional Bhd for safety reasons.

The Welfare Department Info Bencana app reported that total flood victims in 264 temporary relief centres was 37,356 this morning as compared to 38,086 at 270 centres last night. – The Vibes, December 23, 2021
