KUALA LUMPUR – Fully vaccinated travellers with a history of Covid-19 infection within the 11 to 60 days of arrival will not be required to undergo quarantine.
In a press statement today, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin added that travellers must therefore obtain printed lab results that show they have been infected by the virus within the 11- to 60-day period.
“Travellers who have been hospitalised for Covid-19 infection must also present a ‘Fit to Travel’ letter from the hospital concerned.
“If they were not hospitalised for the Covid-19 infection but underwent isolation, an RTK-Ag test is required two days before leaving for Malaysia.
“Only individuals with negative test results are allowed to continue their travels,” the statement said.
Additionally, upon arrival in Malaysia, travellers must download a health declaration form in the MySejahtera application, in addition to scanning a QR code for “travellers from abroad” at the international entry point.
At the international entry point, travellers must also undergo a health screening and have their body temperature taken, as well as an RTK-Ag test in the presence of health personnel.
Khairy says these conditions will come into force on January 13.
“For travellers who have no history of Covid-19 infections, previous SOPs apply, and the ministry will announce any developments or changes from time to time,” Khairy said. – The Vibes, January 12, 2022
