KUALA LUMPUR – Daily Covid-19 infections have continued to surge with 19,090 new cases recorded today, bringing the cumulative total to 2,975,422 infections.
In a tweet, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah reported that most of the new cases (14,079 cases) from today’s tally are those in Category 2.
These Category 2 cases make up 73.75% of the total cases recorded, followed by Category 1 which comprises 4,898 (25.66%) cases.
The remaining 113 cases are in Category 3 (79 cases), Category 4 (28) and Category 5 (six).
Meanwhile, Labuan now has the highest infectivity rate (R-naught) at 1.94, followed by Sarawak (1.84), Sabah (1.73) and Perlis (1.67). The rest of the states and territories have a rate below the national average, which is 1.47.
He said 5,712 recoveries are logged, with 158 in intensive care and 78 patients needing ventilators.
Today, there are another 14 clusters, bringing the total to 6,555. Active clusters stand at 395. – The Vibes, February 10, 2022
