KOTA KINABALU – Sabah continues to see a surge in its daily Covid-19 caseload with another 4,107 infections today.

Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said this is an increase of 746 cases compared to yesterday and warned that the state will see more new cases.

“High percentage of symptomatic cases (54.83%) can only push the number even higher in coming days. Avoid crowded places.”

He also said that Kota Kinabalu has 1,229 cases – an increase of 447 from yesterday – and 10 districts with three-digit caseloads.

Some 4,093 (99.66%) cases are in Categories 1 and 2, while three cases each in Categories 3 and 5, and eight in Category 4.

Masidi said 2,252 (55%) cases are symptomatic and more prevalent in densely populated districts such as Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, Papar and Lahad Datu.

He said 90 new cases have been logged in 10 existing active clusters. No new clusters have been reported today. – The Vibes, February 11, 2022
