KUALA LUMPUR – A senior police officer attached to the Dang Wangi district police was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head earlier today.

Sentul police chief Beh Eng Lai said police are still in the midst of establishing the series of events that led to the officer’s death.

“Initial investigations suggest the victim had shot himself in the head using a pistol.

“We are still investigating and trying to establish the cause behind the incident,” he said in a statement today.

Beh said the 35-year-old officer with the rank of inspector was found dead in a home after police were alerted to the location along Jalan Selingsing in the capital around 3.30pm.
