JOHOR BARU – Muda’s Sabah chapter is demanding an apology from Pejuang’s Layang-Layang candidate Ahmad Shafiq Othaman after he suggested Sabah voters are uneducated.
It is understood that Shafiq had made the statement during a Sinar Harian forum yesterday titled Anak Muda Pilih Siapa? (Who Would the Youth Choose?), which also featured Muda’s Larkin candidate Rasid Abu Bakar.
During the forum, when asked to compare the difference between voter sentiments in Johor and Sabah, Shafiq said, “When we compare Johor and Sabah, it would not be a fair comparison. Why do I say that? Because Johoreans are educated people.”
This statement led to Muda’s Sabah chief Amos Thien to question if Shafiq was suggesting that the people of Sabah are uneducated.

Amos reminded the Pejuang candidate that voters are free to elect any representative that they wish and Shafiq’s statement was unethical.
“To say that voters are uneducated for choosing the opposing party is unethical.
“His (Syafiq) answer is clearly an insult, and Muda Sabah demands the Pejuang candidate to immediately issue an apology to all Sabahans,” Amos said in a statement. – The Vibes, March 8, 2022
