Malaysia sees 25,705 new Covid-19 cases, recording drop of 7,095

KUALA LUMPUR – The Health Ministry recorded 25,705 new Covid-19 cases in the country yesterday, a drop of 7,095 cases from 32,800 recorded on Friday.

Out of the new figure, 545 were imported cases and there are currently 323,784 active cases nationwide.

Yesterday also saw 77 deaths and 25,089 recoveries.

The states that recorded more than 2,000 new infections yesterday are Selangor (7,370), Kuala Lumpur (2,988), Kedah (2,789), Penang (2,349), and Johor (2,314).

States with cases ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 are Negri Sembilan (1,814), Pahang (1,667), Sarawak (1,552), Kelantan (1,549), Perak (1,378), Sabah (1,206), and Terengganu (1,138).

The few states that recorded less than 1,000 new cases are Melaka (753), Perlis (205), Putrajaya (179), and Labuan (157).

Malaysia also recorded two new clusters with one high-risk group cluster known as the Jalan Kemboja Tujuh 2 Cluster in Seremban, Negri Sembilan with 25 cases identified so far.– The Vibes, March 13, 2022
