KUALA LUMPUR – Pengerang MP Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said has been confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 today, following a PCR test conducted in Parliament.

Taking to Twitter today, the former deputy speaker expressed her sincere apologies to anyone that she had been in direct contact with during her prior engagements.

“I hope that anyone who has come into contact with me over the last 48 hours will screen themselves immediately,” she said in her statement.

Azalina was present at the Dewan Rakyat today for the morning session.

According to the Dewan Rakyat question list for today’s session posted on its website, the Johor lawmaker’s question on the number of deaths in Immigration Department custody was sixth on the list.

The question was answered by Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Mohamad Said.

In line with the current SOPs set by the Health Ministry, all MPs and aides attending Parliament are required to undergo a mandatory Covid-19 screening every Monday and Wednesday. – The Vibes, March 17, 2022
