KUALA LUMPUR – PKR chief organising secretary Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has hit back at DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng for commenting on party affairs.
The Setiawangsa parliamentarian took to Twitter to respond to recent reports of Lim suggesting that Rafizi Ramli challenge PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the presidential post in the party’s May election.
In a Twitter thread posted this evening, Nik Nazmi said he noted Lim’s comments and the likeliness of the media asking the DAP leader’s views on several topics, including Pakatan Harapan component PKR.
Nik Nazmi said Lim should know that PKR has its own processes, including its leadership election.
He added that Lim should refrain from commenting on PKR’s internal affairs.
“I, nor any of my PKR colleagues, would never and have never presumed to tell DAP’s young leaders what they should or should not do in their party elections.
“It is only fair that Sdr (comrade) Guan Eng reciprocates in this.”

As a senior Malaysian politician, it is likely that the media would have asked his views on a number of topics, including KEADILAN pic.twitter.com/UB11yKgunS
Earlier today, Lim said Rafizi should challenge Anwar for the party’s top post after the former apparently criticised his boss for possibly working with Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the next general election.
“I even issued a statement before his (Rafizi’s) statement came out – saying no PN. Where is the issue? I think this one is basically directed at Anwar because he mentions not just PH but PKR (as well).
“So from there, it is clear that if there are any negotiations, they will talk to Anwar,” Lim was quoted as saying by Malaysiakini.
“His (Rafizi’s) target is Anwar. I think that since this is for his purposes in campaigning for deputy president, I don’t want to get involved.
“Perhaps, instead of contesting for deputy president, he should contest for the president’s post.”
The DAP leader also said there were no discussions between PH and PN leaders about working together to face the general election, referring to himself and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.
Rafizi’s return to active politics also riled up former Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador, who said the move implied that the former Pandan MP would take on Anwar. – The Vibes, March 17, 2022
