KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s daily Covid-19 caseload is on a downtrend with 24,241 cases, bringing the cumulative total to 3,951,678.
Another 59 deaths were reported, of which 13 were brought-in-dead cases. This brings the toll to 34,244.
However, the Klang Valley has the bulk of the daily caseload with Selangor logging 7,430 infections and Kuala Lumpur having 2,757 cases.
This is followed by Penang with 2,306 cases, Perak (1,703), Kedah (1,529), Negri Sembilan (1,502), Sarawak (1,316), Pahang (1,000), Terengganu (858), Melaka (645), Kelantan (625), Sabah (596), Putrajaya (142), Perlis (128) and Labuan (83).
According to data from the CovidNow website, the country also logged three new clusters – two education and one high-risk group.
Perak’s Persiaran Manjung high-risk group cluster has a positivity rate of 95% with 19 cases so far.
Meanwhile, Selangor’s Jalan Pendidikan Malawati education cluster has 20 infections with a positivity rate of 80%, followed by Perak’s Jalan Tg Tualang education cluster with 16 cases and a positivity rate of 64%.
For now, a total of 284,592 patients remain in home quarantine, with 1,791 in low-risk treatment and quarantine centres, 7,600 hospitalised and 161 under intensive care as well as 222 with ventilator aid. – The Vibes, March 19, 2022
