ALOR STAR – Although Perikatan Nasional (PN) is willing to work with any political party to ensure straight fights against Barisan Nasional (BN) in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15), PAS will not join any new coalition.
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said PAS would not work again with any party in Pakatan Harapan (PH), even without DAP.
“PAS rejects plans to join a new coalition involving PKR, either with or without DAP, it is unlikely that it will happen.
“Because we have 20 years of experience with PKR, that is enough. All that will not happen again,” he said at a press conference at Wisma Darul Aman, today.
Last Sunday, Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that Bersatu is ready to cooperate with any political party to ensure straight fights against BN in the upcoming GE15.
Without naming any party, Muhyiddin said negotiations towards forming the cooperation were in the early stages and that he saw encouraging signs.
On April 18, PAS in a statement informed that the party rejected any proposal to work with PH in GE15.
In the statement, PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan also called for the government’s political coalition to be strengthened, stressing that there was no cooperation with opposition parties “especially PH”.
Meanwhile, Sanusi denied the authenticity of the alleged leaked minutes of a PAS meeting.
He said the document may have been written by a cybertrooper who had an interest in toppling PAS.
“The one who wrote it is a fool. No one wants to reveal their respective war strategies.
“I have been in the party leadership for a long time. The PAS meeting minutes are not written like that, we have our own format,” he said.
Last week, several minutes of the party’s meeting and agenda were revealed on social media, which recorded several plans or actions by PAS to bring down Umno and BN.
The document was described as shocking, as it linked several PN and BN leaders who allegedly tried to take advantage of their respective political interests, including interfering in court affairs. – The Vibes, April 27, 2022
