TG MALIM – Efforts are being made by the Perak government to provide the necessary assistance, including water supply, to residents in Kg Poh, Bidor, which was affected by flash floods yesterday.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said water supply to the area was disrupted as the gravity pipe system used by the residents there became dysfunctional due to low water pressure.

“The district council has sent water supply to the residents there and we hope the Perak Water Board can do the same as the residents need water supply not only to bathe, but also to clean their houses,” he told reporters when met after visiting Felda Trolak Selatan, which was also affected by the floods.

Saarani said immediate assistance had also been sent to more than 900 Orang Asli in five villages affected by the floods in Pos Jernang, Sungkai.

“We are gathering information on the damage caused by the floods and looking into the necessary assistance to be given to the flood victims,” he added. – Bernama, May 26, 2022
