KUALA LUMPUR – Former youth activist Adam Adli and Batu Tiga assemblyman Rodziah Ismail have a narrow lead in the race for the PKR Youth and women’s top posts, respectively, after ballots from 13 states were tabulated.
With the exception of Sarawak, Adam is leading the race with a margin of fewer than 1,200 votes against Penang PKR Youth chief incumbent Fahmi Zainol.
Overall, Adam has 12,008 votes against Fahmi’s 10,832 as of midnight.
Rodziah secured 1,932 more votes than senator Fadhlina Sidek, garnering 20,145 ballots versus the latter’s 18,222.
Despite Adam and Rodziah’s lead, it is still too early to say if they will be taking the posts due to the slim margins, and the votes in Sarawak have yet to be posted on the party’s election website.
Of the 13 states, Adam took the lead in Terengganu, Federal Territories, Penang, Perlis, Selangor, and Melaka.
Adam is also leading in Sabah with 1,036 as opposed to Fahmi’s 456, although 12 out of the total 25 divisions in the state have yet to be tallied.
Meanwhile, Rodziah has the edge over Fadhlina in Kedah, Negri Sembilan, Johor, Perak, Federal Territories, Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan.
In Perak alone, Rodziah led by a razor-thin margin of 18 votes with 1,065 ballots against Fadhlina’s 1,047. – The Vibes, May 30, 2022
