TAWAU – Police arrested a local man and seized 7kg of methamphetamines or syabu, estimated to be worth RM258,948, in two raids here last Wednesday.

Tawau district police chief Jasmin Husin said the 20-year-old suspect was arrested at a premises at Jalan Stephen Tan at 2.10pm, while the drugs were found in two plastic bags in a loudspeaker at a shophouse at Batu 3 Jalan Apas, at 3.40pm on the same day.

The drugs were believed to have been smuggled into the state via courier service, Jasmin told a media conference here today.

He said the suspect will be remanded until June 1 to be investigated for drug trafficking. – Bernama, May 31, 2022
