PUTRAJAYA – The country recorded 1,141 new Covid-19 cases today, said Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
This brings the national tally to 70,236 since the pandemic began.
No new coronavirus deaths were recorded, a first since November 1.
Dr Noor Hisham told a press conference here that another 1,144 patients have been discharged, taking total recoveries to 59,061, or 84.1% of overall infections.
“The latest figure means there are now 10,799 active cases.”
Of the new infections, three were imported, he said.
He added that 129 patients are in intensive care, with 53 on ventilators.
He said the Klang Valley recorded 578 cases (50.7% of the new infections), of which 320 are in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur (256) and Putrajaya (2).
Sabah and Selangor have the most cases at 320 each.
The remaining cases are in Johor (69), Penang (48), Perak (47), Kedah (24), Kelantan (20), Negri Sembilan (15), Pahang (15), Labuan (3), Sarawak (1) and Perlis (1).
Dr Noor Hisham announced eight new clusters, bringing the total to 381, of which 193 are contained.
Four of the fresh clusters are in Kuala Lumpur, with one each in Johor, Perak, Kelantan and Pahang. – The Vibes, December 4, 2020
