KUALA LUMPUR – “I offer myself as the first person to test this (Covid-19) vaccine. I am not scared, and I want to be healthy,” Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) told the Dewan Rakyat today.

“Warriors must go first.”

He said this amid his questions during the Health Ministry’s budget debate session at the committee stage today.

He also raised concerns over the mismanagement of Sabah’s public healthcare services, and recommended the ministry consider utilising services available in private hospitals.

“The hospital situation in Sabah is seen as unstable because those who are sick would be sent anywhere. For example, in Tawau, there are private hospitals offering to rent out their space, but the Health Ministry is not utilising this.

“Instead, patients will be sent to different districts and these districts will be exposed to Covid-19.”

He also pointed out the dire situation of Kinabatangan Hospital, which he said is under-equipped, despite already making a request for funds. – The Vibes, December 9, 2020
