KUALA LUMPUR – Adult Malaysians with an annual income of RM100,000 and below will receive RM100 in e-cash credit, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today.
This will benefit more than 10 million members of the B40 and M40 income groups.
It will also cost the government around RM1 billion, he said when launching the Madani Economy: Empowering the People initiative here.
The government previously allocated RM400 million for a similar initiative, for youths aged 18 to 20, under the e-Tunai Belia Rahmah programme.
It was for two million youths to receive RM200 each in e-cash credit in selected e-wallets.
Eligible youths were able to begin applying for the e-cash credit on June 26.
For the e-Tunai Belia Rahmah programme, the Finance Ministry had said that only the Boost, Setel, and Touch ‘n Go e-wallets were eligible. – The Vibes, July 27, 2023
