KOTA KINABALU – Police have confirmed receiving a report from a Chinese couple complaining about the discovery of a hidden camera installed inside a “homestay room” facility both of them are supposed to have stayed in here recently.

Kota Kinabalu police chief Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the report was lodged on September 7 and the case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code.

“Preliminary investigations at the scene have been conducted, evidence has been seized, and efforts to identify the suspect are underway.

Zaidi also clarified that police did not ask the complainant to remove the content posted on their social media platform.
