PUTRAJAYA – Malaysian football fans will have more opportunities to cheer on their favourite teams now that Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) is the official broadcaster of the 2022 Malaysian League (M-League).

The collaboration is part of RTM’s social responsibility as a government-owned free-to-air channel.

The campaign will begin on Saturday with the Charity Shield match between Super League champions Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) and Malaysia Cup champions Kuala Lumpur City FC at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Johor.

RTM added that the Charity Shield will return to its former state − previously known as the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Cup − and will not be considered part of the league.

The live viewing will be broadcasted on three platforms – TV1, TV Okey, Sukan RTM and RTM Klik.

RTM will broadcast 44 league matches, including the Super League from March 4, FA Cup, and the Malaysia Cup but will be subject to changes from time to time.

The official announcement was witnessed by Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Communications and Multimedia secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek, Broadcasting director-general Datuk Che Roslan Che Daud, MFL chairman Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan as well as Telekom Malaysia chief commercial officer Anand Vijayan. – The Vibes, February 23, 2022
