KUALA LUMPUR – As part of the Good Capitalism Forum initiative by the Sekhar Institute, a series of public service announcement videos, titled “Breaking Down the Issues”, has been launched by The Vibes.

Scheduled for broadcast monthly from today, the series commences with the inaugural video Government – Are You Being Represented?.

The series will feature narration by Tara Sekhar and Patrick Teoh, among others.

On the objectives of the series, producer and artistic director Datin Dr Winy Yeap Sekhar explains: “As a society, we have become more polarised, exacerbated by a lifestyle of instant gratification.

“Swayed by headlines rather than substance, and by short-term gains rather than long-term stewardship, our world has been constructed to fit the narrative of the loudest, the strongest, the most persistent or the most powerful, often finding a common enemy for everyone to hate.

“What if society can see different perspectives, can understand different points of view, and can work together to achieve a common good, be it growth, peace, environment, stability or health? What if these differences are what make us stronger?”

As a public service initiative, Breaking Down the Issues serves as a platform to explore the many issues affecting contemporary society. – The Vibes, April 17, 2021
