KUALA LUMPUR – Fancy being served nasi kandar by a robot?

If the answer is yes, head on to the Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar outlets in SS2 and Citta Mall, Petaling Jaya.

The restaurant’s use of robot servers is not the first in the country, though, with several other eateries also employing such “staff”.

These robots reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission, the possibility of which is higher when human servers attend to patrons.

Besides the health safety aspect amid the pandemic, the robots are also a welcome adoption of technology as Malaysia targets developed-nation status.

Each robot, developed by Secure Robotics, costs RM43,000.
