SCOOT, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), has unveiled a new KrisFlyer award chart, allowing members to redeem flights using their miles at fixed, highly competitive rates — with one-way Economy Class redemptions starting from as low as 1,500 KrisFlyer miles.
The initiative marks a significant enhancement to Scoot’s integration within the KrisFlyer loyalty programme, which it joined in 2015. The airline now offers members the opportunity to use miles for flights to a wide range of destinations, including Bangkok, Hangzhou, Ipoh, Jeju, Taipei and Vienna.
From 13 August, KrisFlyer members will be able to redeem Scoot Saver or Scoot Plus seats in Economy Class, subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis. Miles may be used to cover base fares only, while taxes and ancillary add-ons — such as baggage and meals — can be paid separately via other payment methods. Members will also continue to earn KrisFlyer miles at a rate of 1 mile per SGD1 spent on these optional add-ons, subject to terms and conditions.
“We believe that travel should be accessible and rewarding, and launching Scoot’s award chart is our way of providing greater value for KrisFlyer members,” said Calvin Chan, Scoot’s Chief Commercial Officer. “With Scoot’s award chart, KrisFlyer members can now get more out of their miles through redemption to travel to cities including Hangzhou, Jeju, Taipei, and Vienna at attractive redemption rates. This way, members can maximise their miles to explore more destinations across the SIA Group’s network.”
The new award chart provides greater transparency and predictability for members seeking to redeem flights using KrisFlyer miles, complementing the existing option to use miles for full or partial payment of flight bookings.
In addition to these enhancements, PPS Club, KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Elite Silver members will continue to enjoy their tier-specific privileges when flying with Scoot. These include complimentary standard seat selection, priority boarding, and a 5kg baggage allowance upgrade with the purchase of a minimum 20kg allowance online. PPS Club and Elite Gold members are also entitled to a one-time flight change fee waiver.
