MALAYSIA'S pavilion at the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) has achieved export sales totalling RM376.14 million, according to the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

The pavilion, featuring 70 exhibitors including eight ministries and agencies from various sectors, showcased strong demand and significant opportunities for Malaysian products and services in the China-ASEAN market.

MATRADE Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz said the impressive sales figures reaffirmed the competitiveness of Malaysian goods and services.

“MATRADE remains committed to opening more opportunities for Malaysian businesses to thrive in China and the wider ASEAN region,” he said.

He added that MATRADE’s participation in this leading event demonstrated its dedication to supporting Malaysian companies in strengthening their positions within Malaysia’s largest trading partners, especially in rapidly growing cities such as Nanning, despite ongoing global trade challenges.

The pavilion highlighted a broad array of Malaysian offerings spanning education, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, construction materials, and high-value sectors such as technology and artificial intelligence (AI). Popular Malaysian products including durian, white coffee, biscuits, and bird’s nest continued to attract strong demand from attending importers.

The pavilion was officially opened by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

Throughout the event, more than 30 memoranda of understanding (MoUs), agreements (MoAs), collaborations, and letters of intent were signed, largely stemming from business-to-business initiatives organised by MATRADE.

Malaysia received multiple accolades at the 22nd CAEXPO, including the Special Supporter Award for AI Cooperation, Best Trade Visitor Organiser, and Best Business Matching Activity Organiser.

Additionally, three Malaysian brands earned special recognition from the CAEXPO Secretariat: The Smarter Solution Edge Sdn Bhd received a Gold Award for its Health Voice Recording Kit, the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities was awarded Silver for Red Palm Oil, and Global Premium Resources Sdn Bhd won the Popularity Award for biscuits and chocolates.

The event, held from 17 to 21 September in Nanning, China, remains one of the most effective platforms for Malaysian exporters seeking to expand their business in the Chinese market.

Serving as a vital gateway, CAEXPO offers businesses the chance to showcase their strengths, forge lasting partnerships, and secure a strategic position in one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

“Building on this success, MATRADE invites Malaysian exporters, particularly those looking to establish or strengthen their presence in China, to participate in the next CAEXPO edition scheduled for September 2026,” MATRADE added. - October 2, 2025
