HONG KONG – Hong Kong stocks ended today with more gains, building on a rally over the previous two days as investors head into the new year optimistic about an economic recovery, while mainland Chinese markets were lifted by broadly positive factory data.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.31%, or 84.02 points, to 27,231.13.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.72%, or 58.62 points, to 3,473.07, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange climbed 1.78%, or 40.81 points, to 2,329.37. – AFP, December 31, 2020
