Petronas posts RM152.4b revenue in first half of 2026 on higher output, LNG sales
Stronger realised prices for key products amid the West Asian geopolitical crisis boosts revenue - October 30, 2026

PETROLIAM Nasional Bhd (Petronas) recorded revenue of RM152.4 billion in the first half of 2026, driven by higher domestic production and increased liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said higher sales of processed gas and stronger average realised prices for key products, following the geopolitical crisis in West Asia, also contributed to the performance.

However, she said Petronas faced higher cost of sales due to increased crude oil import and processing expenses, as it maintained operational stability and safeguarded the security and sustainability of the country's energy supply.

Despite stronger market prices, the higher costs placed additional pressure on the national oil company's operations, she said.

Azalina said Petronas had also carried out more than 1,000 corporate social responsibility initiatives between 2020 and last year, benefiting recipients from various backgrounds and with different needs.

"Petronas implements its corporate social responsibility commitments through inclusive, high-impact initiatives aligned with the sustainable development agenda, contributing to improved quality of life and the well-being of local communities.

"It also works with the government and local agencies to ensure that each programme is implemented effectively and delivers sustainable impact," she said in a written parliamentary reply published on the Parliament portal today.

Azalina was responding to a question from Datuk Ewon Benedick (GRS-Penampang) on Petronas' revenue from oil sales since February and the amount channelled to the government for public assistance and development programmes. - October 30, 2026
