JELI – The report on the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) will take into account all factors related to the Covid-19 pandemic, including the National Recovery Plan (NRP), said Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
The minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said 12MP is 97% completed, and will be presented to the cabinet soon.
“It definitely takes into account the Covid-19 situation, post-pandemic new norm, and NRP. All of these will be in 12MP,” he told reporters here today.
The Jeli MP was asked about Research for Social Advancement research coordinator Fakhrurrazi Rashid’s statement that NRP should be part of 12MP.
On claims by certain quarters that the recovery plan is “half-baked” and does not introduce the major measures required for the nation’s recuperation, he said every strategy implemented by the government has been carefully discussed.
He called on all parties to be patient and give Putrajaya time to see to it that NRP achieves its targets.
“The current situation puts great pressure on the country’s position, especially from the financial aspect. We are facing an unprecedented crisis involving both the economy and public health.”
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Tuesday announced NRP, a four-phase plan that involves transitions in the movement control order, as the nation looks to exit the coronavirus crisis. – Bernama, June 19, 2021
