PETALING JAYA – The morning market in SS2 here has recently embraced a consumer rewards programme for its patrons.
SS2 market association vice-chairman Jimmy Fong said that the market has been implementing cashless transactions since 2019.
“The idea of partnering with Bonuslink came from a market member who was working closely with them at the time,” said Fong.
Fong added that the initiative was launched on January 27 in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations.
“This initiative was launched during the Chinese New Year festivities.
“We launched this during this time because we were having some Chinese New Year promotions at the market,” said Fong.
He also said that customers will be able to receive cashback if they use the Blink app to pay for their goods at the market.
“The main benefit of this app is that customers will be able to receive RM5 cashback for every RM10 spent.
“However, they can only receive the rewards from the merchant that they purchased their goods from,” said Fong.
SS2 market association chairman Win Lee, who hails from Penang, said that in addition to Blink, there are other e-wallet apps patrons could opt for such as the Touch n’ Go e-wallet and GrabPay.
“We have implemented cashless transactions since the start of the pandemic, as we wanted to discourage extra contact among customers.
“This method is still being encouraged in our market, and with the introduction of the Bonuslink rewards programme, we hope that our customers will make full use of these initiatives,” said Lee.
Noting that Blink’s user base currently remains small, Lee and Fong encouraged more visitors to familiarise themselves with the app in order to reap benefits from cashless transactions via the app. – The Vibes, February 20, 2023
