KUALA LUMPUR – The Amanah Saham Malaysia fund size will be increased by RM5 billion in line with the unity government’s commitment to ensure equality in the multiracial society, Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) said.

In a statement, PNB said this is as announced by Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when tabling the Budget 2023 at the Dewan Rakyat today.

Besides that, the total individual investment limit of Amanah Saham Bumiputera and Amanah Saham Bumiputera 2 will be increased to RM300,000 from RM200,000 previously.

“This announcement is in line with PNB’s efforts to continue to encourage the culture of saving and investment among Malaysians.

“PNB welcomes the tabling of Budget 2023 by the prime minister which prioritised prudent economic growth and equitable development in order to promote social justice for Malaysians,” it said.

On the merger of Yayasan Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera, Yayasan Ekuiti Nasional and Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputra, it said PNB would support the proposed centralisation of institutions with similar functions in order to be more effective in fulfilling their respective mandates.

“To ensure the effectiveness of operation, PNB will collaborate with the relevant party,” it added. – Bernama, February 24, 2023
